We were at Canada’s Bridal Show this weekend! WOW! Honestly, it was so intense and overwhelming. So many vendors, so many brides; how can one keep up? We attend these big shows for three simple reasons:

2. There is an energy that is unexplained. To be surrounded by so much love, happiness and talent, hearing the music, the laughter and the smell of funnel cake... Gets me every time! 3. To educate ourselves on what is going on in our brides minds. Today we will share the most common, mistake brides handle at the last minute before getting hitched. Try not to be too hard on yourself; after all, the most important thing is that you both successfully complete your vows. Everything else is just icing on top of the faux wedding cake, as far as I'm concerned. There is, however, a general rule of thumb you can follow when booking your wedding vendors: “If it requires a specific person, do it as soon as possible,” which, in reality, is every wedding vendor. There are so many blog post on when to hire each vendor, but there is no better time than now! If a vendor is any good, most likely they will start to become booked 18 months prior. So let’s jump on that horse and ride off into the sunset with your top vendors, not the leftovers. The amazing vendors need to be secured as quickly as possible because they are a scarce resource. -Hair and Makeup- Oh Boy this is a big one for me. The morning of your wedding, why would you want to leave the comfort of your home/hotel? Why??? We understand that your regular hair dresser is fantastic! Trust me we are all about loyalty to the professionals we trust, but if your regular stylist cannot come to you, you may want to consider looking for one that can. When planning a wedding we all know time is of the essence. Being late is unacceptable and will throw everything off, so having a professional team come to you will not only ease your stress the morning of, it is convenient for you and your bridal party, and you are comfortable in your own environment. When hiring a makeup and hair artist, we recommend also booking these artist well in advance. Most companies have a team of 4-6 which means they most likely will only be accepting one booking per day… You are not the only bride getting married on this day. Plus, there is nothing more beautiful than watching a hairstylist and makeup artist from the same company working. It’s like a choreographed dance. We recommend choosing both services from the same company as these individuals are used to working with one another and have developed a rhythm.
